Halloween Day

I thought it would be fun to start some new traditions in the Brown family this year. I decided it would be neat to plan the day around the Halloween theme. So, this morning we ate Cinnamon rolls with Orange icing. . . Then for afternoon snack, Lily and I baked orange pumpkin shaped cookies with pumpkin faces (compliments of tollhouse:) They were very yummy.

Then we watched a Halloween movie and after nap we carved pumpkins. Lily wasn't too sure about scraping the pumpkin out. She didn't want to get her hands dirty. She didn't last very long with this activity.

Gotta love the face in this one! "Get it off of me, Mom!"

Michael and I sure had fun with it though. I forgot to take the after carving pics. Sorry guys, but don't worry. It wasn't anything too exciting :)

Here are some cute pics of the girls in their Halloween outfits:

Gotta love that girl! Getting her to look at the camera is like pulling teeth sometimes!

Oooh Lala! I'm sooo cute it's SCARY!!!

Alexandria with her friend Alexis (babysitting kid.)

All in all, it was a rather fabulous day! And the fun had only just begun!

Lily and her Camera

Lily is always stealing my digital camera and playing with it. This makes me nervous, so I bought her her own small, plastic Tinkerbell camera the other day. She hasn't stopped "taking pictures" since! She snaps the toilet, the dogs outside, her sister, the carpet, you name it! She is turning into her mother already! (Back in July I bought her her own Barbie camera on clearance for Christmas. This one actually works! I know she will love it!)

My Two Little Thumbsuckers

I just thought this picture was too cute and funny to pass up, so I had to share.

I broke Lilyana of the pacifier just to have her start sucking her thumb and Alexandria has sucked her thumb since the womb! I think they both look a lot alike in this picture.

We all Scream for Ice Cream!

Alexandria LOVES ice cream!!! WE went out to eat at this buffet restaurant and at the end of dinner I got some ice cream to share with Alex. I was giving her little spoonfuls and she seemed to really be enjoying it. Her face lit up with excitement at the sight of the next bite. I turned my head, momentarily, to talk to my mom and turned back to find Alex grabbing a fistful of ice cream from the bowl and then shoving it into her mouth. Immediately her hand shot out a second time to grab another fistful to bring to her mouth. I guess I wasn't giving it to her fast enough :) She is a girl who definitely knows what she wants and doesn't waste any time getting it! YUMMY!!!

Michael's Birthday Day on Pikes Peak!

Michael turned the big 27 on Saturday. He sure is getting old! I like to tease him because for a few months he is 2 years older than me. Tee hee.
Anyway, for his birthday, my sister said she would babysit the kids so that Michael and I could get some alone time in ;) We decided that taking a drive up to the top of Pikes Peak would be fun and fairly inexpensive.

The drive up was so beautiful!
When we got to the top, we couldn't believe how windy it was! It was rocking our car back and fourth. I didn't really want to get out of the car at first because I knew it was going to be freezing and, honestly, I was afraid the wind might blow me over or off the mountain if I got too close to the edge. It was crazy! I'm telling ya! Anyway, we finally did get out of the car and it was unbelievably windy! We had to lean into the wind to walk. Haha. It was very humorous watching other people. It was especially funny watching people trying to put on their jackets in the ferocious breeze. Picture someone walking around with one arm in their jacket and the other reached as far behind their back as possible trying to grab the other side of the jacket that is blowing way far out of their reach on the other side of their body. Bawhahahaha! Anyway, here are some fun and incredible pictures from the top!

We took this video at the top to show how windy it was! Sorry it is sideways, but I can't (or don't know how) to fix it!

So, if the pictures are a little off or what, sorry. It was extremely difficult trying to steady the camera to take a picture in such blustery winds!!!

And, here are some photos from on the way back down :)
I love our snowman and woman ;)

It was a very fun, cold day! Happy Birthday, My Love!

Nap time and Random Pictures

Nap time for Lilyana has been a constant struggle. She is very defiant and determined to undermine me in even the smallest things. For instance, staying in bed. She will take her pillow and covers and lay on the floor just because I told her to stay in bed. Lately, I have had to sit in her room because this seems to be the only way she stays in her bed and falls asleep.(It has gotten a lot better since I have applied this Super Nanny technique.) Today, having a lot to do, I told her that she didn't have to take a nap, but she needed to stay in her room for "quiet" time. She was very upset about this. I heard her growling, "No room!" Minutes later, I peeked around the hallway and found her like this. This is progress. At least she listened and stayed in her room ;)

And now for some adorable random pictures of my Alex Monkey!
And here's some cute ones of the Lily Bug

I love these girls! I am sure blessed to be their mommy!
