WARNING: PICTURE OVERLOAD!
We drove down to Monument early 4th of July morning to meet our really good friends Bridget, Ted, and Stephen (and Bridget's family) for some grub and to watch the festivities. The parade was REALLY long, but it was fun and good friends made it great. The girls really enjoyed watching the different floats, bands, and animals as they passed by. Lily enjoyed getting the candy that was thrown, though we didn't get much being in the back row and all, but we were able to salvage a few suckers. She was a happy camper! After the parade, we took the girls back home for a nap. Michael got sick and the girls were cranky that evening, so we decided to miss out on fireworks. It is the first year I can remember ever missing out on fireworks. I was pretty bummed, but at least we got to have a little fun in the morning! So, instead of fireworks, we stayed in and had movie night together. I guess there's always next year! (HOPEFULLY!)

I would just like to mention that I am grateful to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave and to be blessed to live in and be a part of this country. I am thankful to be able to worship as I choose and make my own life choices. I am indebted to those who serve so selflessly and bravely to keep our country free. I am grateful to those to serve and to those who have died for me and my family. I love America, though I am not always happy with the choices made sometimes, I am lucky to live here and I am "Proud to be an American."
